What wading jacket - what is important.
Wading jacket material – wading jacket is often at risk of getting wet and therefore it should be made of water-repellent materials. Cheaper models often feature two-layer membrane along with loose mesh lining. We advise against using such jackets as the mesh absorbs water and dries quite slowly. Obviously wading jackets should be breathable.
Pockets in such wading jackets should be located high on the chest, otherwise they will get wet very quickly. It is advisable for wading jacket to have pocket lined with microfiber for warming one’s hands – it is very practical on cold days.
Wading jacket cuffs – fly fishing or spinning jackets guarantee comfort even if you put your hand into water in order to remove a hook from fish. For this reason jacket cuffs should be made out of special fabric for putting hands into water without soaking the clothes under the jacket. Cheaper wading jackets have rubber bands which do not do the job well.
